EGGWALKInside the Shell
Back to Eggtymology

EGGWALK is a fragment of the Eggtymology universe.
It is an exploration of identity as something enclosed, layered, and waiting to be revealed.

The egg becomes both a container and a metaphor: a surface that protects, conceals, and quietly holds what is not yet visible. What exists inside is not fixed, but constantly forming—shaped by memory, desire, and perception.

Through fashion imagery, the work reflects on identity as performance and construction. Each frame, like each layer of the shell, suggests that what we see is only partial—an exterior hint of something deeper, more intimate, and still unfolding.
Every gesture rewrites the image.

The installation operates as a responsive system that reacts to the presence and movement of the viewer. An external camera continuously tracks hand gestures, translating motion into real-time transformations within the projected visuals inside the eggshell.

Rather than presenting a fixed or linear narrative, the imagery remains unstable—shifting through interaction. Gestures can reveal hidden fragments, distort existing forms, or interrupt the visual flow entirely. The system does not simply respond; it negotiates with the viewer, producing outcomes that are partial, unpredictable, and constantly changing.

The eggshell acts as both a boundary and an interface. Its enclosed surface frames the projection while also suggesting a threshold—something that can be approached, but never fully accessed. Interaction becomes a way of probing this boundary, attempting to uncover what is inside while simultaneously altering it.

As the viewer moves, the relationship between body and image becomes more intimate. Distance, speed, and gesture all affect how the visuals behave, turning subtle movements into meaningful actions. What is seen is never entirely stable, but continuously reconstructed through engagement.

In this way, the installation reframes viewing as an active process. Identity is not presented as a finished image, but as something that emerges through interaction—formed in real time, shaped by perception, and always slightly out of reach.
